Our Process

***If you wish to mail in your service, please provide a cover letter with your name, address and phone number, along with the address for service. Include the original summons or original orders from the court, a copy of the complaint, and any other additional documents for the service.

Please include the estimated fee of $50.00 - We accept money orders, certified bank checks, and business checks. DO NOT MAIL CASH.

Please file your paper work with our return of service to the court - we DO NOT file your paper work for you.

Summons and Complaint

Mail or deliver the completed original summons with the court seal and copy of the complaint to the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office. Please include any other documents that accompany the summons and complaint. After service, the original summons will be forwarded back to you with the return of service affixed. You will be responsible to return the original to the court in a timely manner.

Supplementary Process/Summons to Judgment Debtor

Mail or deliver the original Supplementary Process Summons or Summons to Judgment Debtor to the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office. The original will be forwarded back to you with the return of service affixed after service is completed. You will be responsible to return the original copy to the court in a timely manner.

Subpoenas

Mail, deliver, or fax the completed subpoena to the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office. Once served, the subpoena will be forwarded back to you with the return of service affixed. A witness fee associated with your subpoena will be included on your invoice. Please note that a faxed subpoena will only be accepted if your firm has an account with our office. The faxed subpoena will be notarized on site for a fee of $1.25.

Orders of Notice

Mail, deliver, or fax the order of notice to the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office. The order of notice must be served 14 days prior to the return date, so time is of the essence. After service, the order of notice will be forwarded back to you with the return of service affixed. You will be responsible to return the original to the court in a timely manner.

Divorce/Separate Support Summons & Complaints & Petitions for Visitation & Complaints for
Grandparents Rights


Mail or deliver the completed original summons with the court seal on copy of the complaint to the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office. Please include any other documents that accompany the original summons and complaint. If you have a motion with a hearing date, please deliver the paperwork to our office as soon as possible. These papers must be served in hand to the defendant and several attempts may be necessary to complete service. Once served, the original summons will be forwarded back to you with the return of service affixed. You will be responsible to return the original to the court in a timely manner.

Petitions & Citations

Mail or deliver the original petition or citation with the court seal, or a true and attested copy thereof, to the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office. Once served, the citation or petition will be returned to you with the return of service affixed. You will be responsible to return this to the court in a timely manner.

Domestic Relations Summons with Complaint for Modification, Support or Visitation &
Contempt Summons & Complaint for Contempt


Mail or deliver the completed originals (Domestic Relations or Contempt) Summons with the court seal and copy of the complaint to the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office. Also include any other documents that accompany the original summons and complaint. If you have a motion with a hearing date, please deliver the paperwork to our office as soon as possible. These papers must be served at least 10 days before the hearing date and can be left at the home address of the defendant and also mailed to the
defendant. Once served, the original summons will be forwarded back to you with the return of service affixed. You will be responsible to return the original to the Court in a timely manner.

Writ of Attachment

Mail or deliver the completed original Writ of Attachment to the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office. You must indicate whether the Writ should be recorded on the Unregistered or Registered/Land Court side of the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office. You must also state which type of recording you would like for:

Unregistered:

General – any and all property located in Suffolk County

General with Parcel – any and all property located in Suffolk County including but not limited to property located at a specific physical address. Include copy of deed or book & page for recording.

Specific – property located at a specific physical address. Include copy of deed or book & page for recording.

Special or General & Special – property standing in the name of another. Always required a copy of the deed of the property.

Registered/Land Court:

Always requires Certificate Number, Book and Page.

The original Writ of Attachment will be returned to you after completion of recording with the appropriated return of service.

If you require our office to notify defendant after recording, indicated mail or serve in your letter of instruction.

Levy on Real Estate

Mail or deliver the original Execution on Money Judgment to the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department-Civil Division. A cover letter directing our office to levy and record said execution at the registry of deeds. Further, enclose a copy of the deed, including book and page number along with a $75.00 recording fee. (Please make checks payable to the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department)

Registered/Land Court:
Always requires Certificate Number, Book and Page.
*the name on the execution must be spelled exactly as the name on deed*

The original Execution will be returned to you after completion of recording with the appropriated return of service. If you require our office to notify defendant after recording, indicated mail or serve in your letter of instruction.
